However, when it falls, it falls usually in heavy short bursts and the majority of it, late in the afternoon and overnight.

It is a 12 hrs flight from London the the capital, Bangkok. The island of Phuket in the south and Chiang Mai & Chaig Rai in the north are all around a 1.5 hours flight, or less, from Bangkok, making them easily accessible.
